Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Serum Primer

Covergirl and Olay have outdone themselves by creating a fabulous product, the new Simply Ageless Serum Primer. it's an anti-aging serum. it's a primer. it's a brilliant light moisturizer that i simply can't get enough of.

i was first introduced to this beauty by Molly R. Stern at the CoverGirl Lounge event in los angeles back in may. she used it to prep Rashida Jones' skin for the gorgeous look she ultimately created. Molly herself, a makeup maven, admitted that she wasn't too thrilled with the idea of a primer-- she never used them before (good moisturization of the skin works just as well as a primer in most cases, fyi)-- but after using it, and seeing the results it gave, she became a fan.

i, on the other hand, was beyond thrilled to know that CG was stepping it up and adding this to their Simply Ageless line! i couldn't wait to try it myself.

i've been using it for a couple of months now, and i adore it!

it's made with Olay Regenerist ingredients, of course, so my skin doesn't just get prepped for foundation, but is also given an anti-aging treatment every time i use it (multi-tasker alert!). i love its delicate consistency and the way it quickly smooths over my skin without a hint of oil. it doesn't leave my skin matte, but rather looking fresh, pretty and lightly moisturized. i don't have any serious wrinkles, so i don't know how it would be in treating them, but i do know i like the way my skin has been looking since using this.

Christina Hendricks Wears New NARS Pure Matte Lipstick to Mad Men Premiere

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks looked as gorgeous as ever when she made an appearance at last week's season 4 premiere event (did you watch the show last night? the episode didn't disappoint!).

to create her look, makeup aritst Vanessa Scali worked with NARS Cosmetics. one of the stand-out products used was the new NARS Pure Matte Lipstick --"Christina's sultry Dolce & Gabbana dress inspired a softer version of the 'La Dolce Vita' makeup look," says Vanessa. The Body Shop Introduces Love Etc...

Love Etc..., a new fragrance collection from The Body Shop features, get this, the first eau de parfum to feature an alcohol perfume base created from an ingredient which is fairly-traded and organic. how cool is that? in any case, this scent, to me, is everything one is likely to expect because of its name alone-- romantic, sweet, alluring and delightful, with a slight hint of luxuriousness.

WWD: Kiehl’s to Launch Açaí Organic Skin Care Line

Kiehl's is set to launch its first ever organic skin care collection, reports Women's Wear Daily. the four-item line up contains the brazilian açaí berry, because of its "superior antioxidant properties," says Chris Salgardo, president of Kiehl's USA. this superberry is also known for combating environmental aggressors and stimulating the skin's natural renewal process. the products are due out in mid-September and will be available at over 250 specialty stores in the u.s.,including 33 free standing Kiehl's stores.

while many people assume Kiehl’s products are 100 percent organic, this line is the brand’s first organic skin care line. "since our inception, we have always been known for our service and for creating efficacious products," said Salgardo, noting that everyone asks for "green" products, but still demand high performance. "we heard that our customers wanted organics, that they wanted paraben-free, that they wanted natural— and they wanted to focus on the first signs of aging. we went to the lab to do all that. the result: our new Açaí line."

review: CoverGirl LashBlast Length

a little over a week ago i shared the scoop on CoverGirl's newest mascara, LashBlast Length. are you excited to try it? as a reminder, it won't be available in stores until next month, but tomorrow, august 17th, you'll have a chance to snag one for yourself.

my experience with this new mascara has been positive-- LashBlast Length gives my lashes natural-looking length (thanks to nylon in the formula) and great definition without clumping, smudging or irritating my eyes. my only gripe is i find the wand and the brush itself to be a bit too long.
