hello beauties! how was your day?

my day included...

seeing a butterfly hanging out on the sidewalk while out on my morning walk...

a bit of audiobook reading while making breakfast for the fam...

tea sipping...

more reading, post housework and laudry folding...

also answered many emails {lots of spring fashion week info plus more to share!}, cooked a yummy lunch and enjoyed some rare couch time watching a movie with my love before picking up the kids from school...

hope you had a splendid day!

my favorite looks from the 2011 Primetime Emmys

the 63rd Primetime Emmys aired sunday night, and the red carpet was on fire with fabulous looks. there were many gorgeous gowns and beauty looks, but there were four ladies who were my faves of the night...

with her hair pulled into a simple side chignon and classic, elegant makeup, Rashida Jones was a stunner. using products that including the new Maybelline Fit Me! foundation {in Honey Beige} and blush {in Medium Mauve}, makeup artist Jo Strettell, gave the actress a vibrant lip {using Color Sensational High Shine Lipcolor in Dazzling Plum) to add a bit of modern drama to an otherwise classic look.

when it comes to fashion hits, Kerry Washington is in my hall of fame. dressed in a red strapless Zuhair Murad Couture gown, her look was complimented with a side-parted bob and uber-glam makeup {love her with the red lips!}. she once again wowed me with her look!

Sofia Vergara was the quintessential bombshell; i loved her lush lash look {created by makeup artist Kayleen McAdams using Liquiline Eyeliner in Black Fire and LashBlast mascara, both by Covergirl}. her mane of shiny waves {stylist Jen Atkin used KeSARI Indian Oil Hair Serum to give it added shine.} completed the look and was the perfect compliment to her coral, one-shoulder Vera Wang gown.

Emily Blunt, wearing an oh-so-fabulous Elie Saab gown, looked effortlessly beautiful. i love the subtle makeup {a bit of grey shadow, liner and mascara to create a smokey eye, peach blush and pink lipstick} and simple ballerina-inspired bun, created by stylist Laini Reeves for Wella Professionals.

tell me: who were your Emmy red-carpet faves??

nail color of the week: Zoya Tao

fresh from the fall Smoke and Mirrors collection, i picked up Tao and Jem {will share that beauty soon!}, along with some other things from a recent trip to my local Ulta...

well, it's 30 minutes away, but definitely worth the drive!

Tao is a gorgeous metallic, light smokey grey that leans a bit toward blue, giving it a very edgy, rock and roll vibe...

yet another reason to love the fall season.
